Performance School

Thuri Helgadottir

- 9th fittest woman on earth 2019 and multiple Crossfit Games athlete

I would definitely recommend Ásdís’ Performance School. I have been a competitive athlete my entire life and have always struggled a little bit with stress. Ásdís covers extensively how you can work on that and what tools we can use to find our “optimal” stress level. On top of that it can be difficult in these strange times to be motivated to keep training, diet, sleep and more 100% because you don’t even know when the next competition is. Then it is good to dive into why I am doing my sport and why I started it in the first place as well as what it has given me.

Birgit Rós Becker

- Icelandic record holder in powerlifting

I definitely recommend Performance School. I got to know myself as an athlete all over again! In Performance School Ásdís offers an incredibly generous package and it was worth every penny. I feel a big difference in myself mentally but she covers the mindset part extensively and that was what I needed. I highly recommend Performance School for all athletes!

Lena Meyer

- Swiss javelin thrower

Through the Performance School I realised how much a good mindset can change my performance. I learned how I can use my mindset to improve my performance and ability to deal with different situations. I have noticed that my mindset in training has improved. This has helped me to be more focused in my training session. I would definitely recommend Performance School to other athletes.

Kristín Þórhallsdóttir

- World championships bronze medalist in classic powerlifting

I took advantage of consultation sessions with Ásdís Hjálms in order to prepare mentally for my first major international championships, the World Championships in classic powerlifting. She gave me powerful tools to deal with my competition stress and it was absolutely invaluable to get advice on how best to adjust your head and mindset before a championship from such an experienced elite athlete such as Ásdís. I managed to stay calm during the competition and felt good. I also had a good and positive experience of the competition. This mental work, on top of physical preparations, was no less important and helped me win the bronze medal in squat and total.

Birgit Rós Becker

- Icelandic record holder in powerlifting

I have had a 1-on-1 consultation with Ásdís and it has helped me enormously. It was very comfortable to talk to her and I felt like I had known her my whole life.

Lena Meyer

- Swiss javelin thrower

The consultation sessions have been very informative for my personal development. They gave me the chance to talk about my personal situations in detail. Learning from Ásdís and her experiences and having discussions with her about my mindset in different situations was really useful and will help me in the future. Ásdís gave me specific advice on how to deal with certain situations in training and competition. Because of the benefits I have gotten from these consultations I would recommend them to anyone looking to improve their mindset.

Thelma Dögg Grétarsdóttir

- Icelandic volleyball player

When I started the goal setting coaching with Ásdís I wasn’t sure where it would take me or how much it would help me. Now I have worked with her for about half a year and today I look at my goals completely differently and with different emphasis. When I first started I didn’t see big changes but now when I look back I can see how far I have come. Ásdís helped me to make my goals clear and doable but always demanding and the most difficult thing, she forces you to reward yourself when you achieve your goal. I have felt so incredibly good working with her and she gives you a good view or overview of the things you want to achieve. Now I always keep my goals in mind and together with her I have found methods that suit me to stay the course. Ásdís is a really fun character who keeps you on track and encourages you to dream big!

Guðlaug Rún Gísladóttir

- Pharmacy technician

Last year, as a Christmas present from my husband, I received a gift certificate for goal setting coaching with Ásdís. This is amazing, I recommend it. Before I came for the session, I was not good at setting goals and following my dreams. But I can proudly say that it worked like a charm for me, at least I'm chasing my dreams and I enrolled in University last autumn and it's something that has been a dream for a long time. Getting help setting goals and achieving them is amazing and something that everyone should take advantage of. This increases confidence a whole lot! Thank you so much.

Ásdís held her goal setting workshop at BYKO's management day and really impressed the group. Her experience of goal setting, challenges and perserverance adds even more value to the material for the participants. We found it a great advantage that all the managers went home with tools to work on goal setting in their personal and work life.

It's so nice when our elite athletes who have truly experienced the ups and downs on their journey are willing to share their experiences. Ásdís's experience and success are really worth sharing. The talk "Náðu Árangri" appeals very well to those who want to set clear and realistic goals for themselves. Ásdís makes it very easy to understand how best to set realistic goals step by step. It's really fun to listen to Ásdís review her career and how she dealt with adversity. In her mind there is no such thing as failure which is a great and infectious mindset

The "Achieve Success" course is very clear and well organised. Ásdís is a very lively and dynamic speaker, who gives good examples and asks well-posed questions that make the participants think. Ásdís came to us and gave a talk for our staff in English on the occasion of happiness week. Our people were very pleased with this great talk which encouraged us all to be the best possible version of ourselves, not only that, but in the process she gave us the tools to achieve that success. It is difficult to find a talented speaker who wants to speak English, so I was extremely happy with how well she delivered the material in English.

Anna Lóa Ólafsdóttir

- Isavia Teaching consultant

We brought Ásdís to Isavia at the beginning of autumn ‘23, to get us in the right gear, professionally and personally. Ásdís has an easy way of enthralling people and presenting her content in both an inspiring and entertaining way. She doesn’t take herself too seriously and leaves people with the feeling that setting goals and going after them isn’t that complicated after all. We can all train both positivity and courage, which are mental qualities that will get us far, and Ásdís has taken full advantage of them. I wholeheartedly recommend having Ásdís for a visit - she has an impact!

Bergrún Lilja Sigurjónsdóttir

We got Ásdís to have an electronic talk for VR members in the spring of 2021. It was absolutely amazing how much enthusiasm and power she managed to flow through the screen. The talk is lively, fun and easy to connect with the examples she takes. I think her sincerity shines through when she takes an example of herself and how she has faced challenges over the years to achieve outstanding results.

Ólafur Kári Júlíusson

- Human resources specialist at Landsnet

It was a pleasure to listen to Ásdís talking about goal setting and achieving results. Throughout the talk you could feel her enthusiasm and experience with the topic; suffice it to say, she had no problems keeping us focused. The examples she used to emphasize her message were both human and very relevant to the daily lives of „normal“ people, you don‘t have to be a star athlete to understand her message. She successfully related her experience and journey to three Olympic Games, the pain and effort, the determination and the absolute mind-boggling grit required to get there. All this experience she managed to deliver nicely and got us to think about these aspects in our own daily lives. I am thankful for having had the opportunity to listen to her approach to challenges and adversity.
